Either or

you only have 2 choices, so pick one (and nope, no wiggle room):

over the course of a day, would you rather

a. start the day feeling fantastic about your appearance, and have that confidence gradually decline, going lower and lower

or

b. start off feeling low about your appearance, and have your confidence gradually build throughout the day?

I'd prefer to start the day feeling fantastic. That confidence in myself translates to a more productive and effective work, lasting throughout the day.

If I gradually feel better about how I look, that's not enough to inspire me to get my footing again to have quite the same success in other areas of my day that I would have had otherwise.

I'd love to feel more and more fabulous as the day goes on, are you kidding? The other option is generally what happens (I'm a spiller), and it's getting old.

B. I'm okay if I don't feel that great at first, but things get better. For me, it's more difficult to start out strong and end weakly.

This is an interesting question. I wonder what brought it out.

I'm with you Carlene. There's nothing worse than thinking when I leave the house that I look fabulous, and then catching a look in the mirror at work later in the day and discovering that no, not so much with the fabulous. That's why my favourite outfits are the ones that I love no matter what time of the day I see them.

that's so easy - B! i'm in total agreement with carlene. a way to stop entropy? brilliant. plus, that way i can go out that night feeling hot sans any "freshening up" (ugh).

B easily. I know it has nothing to do with physically looking bad because the clothes in my closet are good. Obviously, it's a vicious mental attack from the outer forces that are magazine covers. I will fight it, and I will end the day victorious!

LOL. Seriously. B.
