Matchmaker matchmaker

of course i am free to combine favorite designers to form my personal wardrobe and shape my own style, but there are some designers who, either through contrasting or complimentary styles, would be interesting to pair together, to see what type of collection they would create when combining their aesthetics and techniques.

if you could put 2 or more favorite designers together, what would be a dream design team?

Dries Van Noten for Topshop! (not likely, I know)

whatever collaboration allows me to get my hands on something by Christian Siriano

For Spring/Summer, my dream team: Roberto Cavalli, Riccardo Tisci, and Tom Ford

Dries for Topshop is genius, I Heart.

I was thinking the quirky Britishness of Stella McCartney with the brazen sexiness of Tom Ford (circa Gucci).

ah, but a collaboration with a chain store is about price reduction, not design. ;)

(for me, while i would love to afford more dries, i'd rather do it by getting a raise/winning the lottery. dries without the "made in belgium" tag would not be the same.)

my pictures are dries and demeulemeester. both appeal to me, but both come at me from different angles. i don't know what would happen if they worked together... would love to see though.

Nicolas Ghesquière, John Galliano and Dolce and Gabbana (I know it’s four but cut me some slack, that was hard)

^^^four is totally fair. :)

Ghesquière/Louboutin for shoes; Galliano/Sander for clothes.

That second one is insane—they're polar opposites, aren't they? But this is my warped dream.

pilati/galliano (severe/nutty)
mcqueen/pilati (psychotic/severe)
ghesquiere/castiglioni (sci-fi/organic)

i could go on and on - this is fun!!!

riccardo tisci and alexander mcqueen - I would choose quite complementary designers to see if the result could be greater than the sum of its parts

Dries and Ann - what a combination. Guess we can always dream.

Ideologically speaking - Rick Owens and Tao Kurihara - I like the idea of fierce and sinuous with crisp and feminine.

Wish-fulfillment - Prada for Topshop/H&M; I want to see how Miuccia does cheap and mainstream.
