Oh, me too! I want something with a really thick earpiece this time, as I am due for a new prescription (I am really nearsighted, but usually wear contacts).

Do you wear glasses?

Here is more inspiration for you. Julie Delpy in similar glasses.

I love that style, Editor! Alas, I have a small face, so specs of that nature are not the least bit flattering on me.

Luckily, my lovely partner-in-crime dons such a pair, so my style-adoration is somewhat satiated each day.

I've that picture of Christy Turlington torn out from a magazine for the longest time. I know by now that such frames will never work for me. Oh well. One can dream.

no need for glasses for me, yet.
one of these days i'll just crack and buy a pair and wear them for the love of it. and i don't care if they'll suit me or not, because i won't have to look at them on my face.

recovergirl - thank you for the link (i have a wee bit of a hair fixation, so i think i might just visit your hairbrained blog quite often. also, a visit to your regular blog led me to another blog, which led me to an e-shop where i purchased gifts for some friends - thanks for pushing me down the rabbit hole.)

Someday? Why not today? Fill the frames with dummy lenses and go! I don't even know what you look like, but I know they'd be perfect for you.

you think? that is crossing a line into artifice that i am uncertain about. is it different than wearing any other accessory? possibly. very interesting question.

I might not have to look at the glasses on my face, but every now and then, when I catch sight of myself in the mirror, I would flinch, and finally, I just thought, "maybe they're not really me after all." I lack the nerve to persevere I guess.

Glasses to me are totally functional, though I have friends who switch around a few pairs to suit their mood and look. I think they work find as accessories, though peering through a dummy glass all the time might give you a headache.

ooooook.

perhaps you should try them on first.

i mean, you're using AMY SEDARIS as a style icon.

not that there's anything wrong with that. . .

Oh these are so lovely! I was watching the tv show Mad Men the other day and I love the glasses men were sporting in the 60s. So stylish!
