Cup of tea

fashion shows, good.
inspired fashion spreads, goood.
inspiring street style, gooood.
met's costume institute ball, eh.
i'll admit it. i cannot muster much interest in the ball (or the exhibit). i didn't lose any sleep over my apathy, but i did have an "ah-HA" moment when i read my hero lynn yaeger's piece on it.

any fashion cultural events that you find lackluster?

It has to be fashion parties. The ones I attended were very bleah even though they were thrown by big labels and people with money.

And that was a GREAT article, the only article on the ball that I actually finished to the end. I think Lynn Yaeger might be my hero too.

Yes, the Oscars are definitely not what they used to be - too much lifted botoxed flesh around these days. And the UK equivalent, the Baftas, is just too embarrassing for words.

Bring back the old days of Hollywood glamour when stars were remote, haughty and utterly fascinating!

Fashion shows in general, with teetering, starved models in clothes that are not made, or are so altered by the time they are sold in stores that the runway item is false.

The red-carpet trawls on the way into the Oscars don't do it for me, and neither do the outfits of fashion show attendees. I like seeing what people wear when they're out with their friends, at music events.

The Oscar's...so boring. Every year is the same: faked glamour.

What a cheerful and fun post that also puts the message across! I guess many actresses want to get the "most famous" stylists... but there are only a few "famous" ones who probably have run out their ideas to think for the same occations again, again and again...

To minimise their risks, many actresses go for the "safe" options... so they can not be quite original, quite special or quite their own loves...

But I love this post... a great fun post :)
