Time capsule

if you had to buy a piece of clothing today that you would have to put away and not see or use again until 10 years from now, and only then could you take it out, what would you buy?

this is a bit silly, but there's this long billowy black KLS (yes, that is in kimora lee simmons) kimono dress that i love, i want it to be my wedding dress actually.

I would also go for something traditional like a kimono or kaftan. If I chose something more 'fashionable' like an outfit from the latest Winter 08 Junya Watanabe or Comme des Garcons (both utterly gorgeous) collections I would be miserable for 10 years waiting for it!

It would probably be a duplicate of something I love that I wear now, because the original is sure to fall apart in 10 years. Actually, this is a really good idea.

the mcqueen heels I tried on @ NM last call last weekend. i found the 7.5s hidden on the bottom shelf with the size 4s. In ten years I would love to feel that pure joy of finding them again.

Black mid-calf leggings. They'd either be laughably outdated, or have gone out and come back into style again. It'd be fun to see which, and I certainly wouldn't miss them in the meantime.

A perfect gray cashmere cardigan.

Exactly what carlene said -- a duplicate of something I wear now and can't count on getting in the future. (Black silk slacks, maybe? Another orange Zegna shirt? Or my favorite black cardigan?)
