Either or

while interacting with a sales person (right then - no time to remedy the problem!!):

1. would you rather be wearing ill-fitting pants, or noisy shoes?

2. would you rather have bad skin or bad breath?

1. Noisy shoes. At least I could joke about them ("I shouldn't have eaten that bean burrito at lunch, sorry!")

2. Bad skin. At least she could look away. And you can't smell bad skin.

noisy shoes - noise isn't something I would care as a fashionista?

bad skin - same as what enc said.

not very original is it?

1. Ill fitting pants: help me find something better!
2. Bad skin- hard enough to stand on your feet all day without the assault of badger breath

Noisy shoes and bad skin. Similar reasons as above.
Have you ever seen the very charming children's picture book by John Burningham, Would You Rather ?

HAHAHA!

1. Noisy shoes. Always preferred to ill-fitting pants.

2. Bad skin. My ever-present packet of Orbit gum can stave off most breath-related woes.

Noisy shoes.
I'll keep my distance and take the good skin.

Bad skin and noisy shoes - I don't think I've ever actually had either, so I don't know how bad they could be!
